JON TARCY

As a producer he has worked across film, TV and cabaret. In 2015 he produced the TV pilot Life in Black, starring Liam Neeson and Jemma Redgrave which was sold to Company Pictures.

Jon has also produced a number of short films, including most recently two films based on short stories by the famous Hungarian writer István Örkney; these films were supported by the Hungarian cultural fund. Jon is was also an associate producer at Raindance Film Festival, having produced their monthly film club as well as a cross-collaboration with the British Council in Tunisia. 

At the same time, as an actor he has worked extensively across stage and screen. His screen work includes Outlander for Amazon Prime/STARZ, The Sound of Music Live for ITV and FBI:International for CBS. On stage he has performed most notably with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and a production of King John directed by Trevor Nunn.

ISHER SAHOTA

After being selected for a coveted place on the BBC’s New Directors scheme, Isher has directed Doctors and Father Brown for BBC Studios, Hollyoaks for Lime Pictures/Channel 4, and McDonald & Dodds for Mammoth Screen/ITV.

Isher was nominated for Edinburgh TV’s New Voices Award in 2020 for his original script The Rise and Fall of Ronak Malhotra, which was subsequently optioned by Objective Fiction. He has two other original television programmes in development with independent production companies. 

His writing for screen and television is concerned with representing important counter narratives about multiculturalism, in compelling genre shapes.Isher has directed a number of short films with frequent collaborator Jamie Macdonald through their company Paisley Films. Their most recent short film, a period comedy called Goodnight Henry, was backed by the BFI and stars Joseph Marcell, Sharon Rooney, and Ryan Gage. It is due for release in 2022.

In early 2021, Isher observed the unique effects of the pandemic on the Indian community of Southall. He diverged from fiction filmmaking to direct a documentary for Vice World News. Unprecedented access and authenticity has led to over 2 million views on YouTube.

Following his participation on a BAFTA jury, Isher was invited to become a full voting member in 2021.

In early 2022, Isher is set to direct his debut feature The Effects of Lying through Bonaparte Films - his new venture with producer Jon Tarcy. The Effects of Lying is a dark comedy that seeks to portray the reality of a British Asian family as never seen before on UK screens.
